The Grades, Recalibrated

2026-07-18

We found a quiet flaw in our own grading: a discount meant to punish tiny samples was taxing every swing strategy as if it were a high-frequency desk. It's fixed — and every card in the warehouse was re-graded, upward only.

Part of every score is a reliability discount — fewer trades means less evidence, so the grade is marked down. The idea is sound; the scale wasn't. It was calibrated for strategies that trade hundreds of times a year, while the strategies here are swing traders on 15-minute to 1-hour candles. The result: nine out of ten cards could never reach Legendary no matter how well they performed. That's not a harsh judge — that's a rigged scale. The discount is still there (small samples still earn suspicion), but it now measures against how these strategies actually trade.

Every card in the warehouse was re-scored under the corrected formula. Three guarantees held throughout: no score went down, no card lost its badge, and the four validation gates weren't touched — this changes how survivors are ranked, not who survives. If you own or saved a card, its grade either rose or stayed exactly where it was.

With fairer scores the whole distribution shifted up, so the rarity bands moved to keep each grade honest: Rare now starts at 67, Unique at 73, Epic at 78, Legendary at 84. The shape stays a pyramid — Legendary sits at roughly the top 0.4% of the warehouse, which means it finally, genuinely exists. Card prices per badge are unchanged. And the part that matters most is untouched: a grade is still a backtest score, and the record worth trusting is still Since Launch, written live on every card. What Rarity Means has the updated bands.
